Dear Friends,

Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

The application of this verse is generally used during difficult times in one’s life. It is in such challenges our faith is strengthened and our trust in God either grows or is shown to be lacking. Crisis is an opportunity for increased prayer or the doorway to doubt.

Our world is facing a great challenge in confronting the Coronavirus. For most of us, this is the first global struggle we have ever faced. As followers of Jesus, how are we responding? Are we believing everything we hear in the media, or can we draw nearer to God in prayer trusting that He will somehow bring good even out of what the enemy meant for evil?

I encourage each of us to spend time in God’s Word and review His promises; then to find a quiet place to communicate in prayer, trusting He hears us.

The virus has yet to significantly affect Mexico. We recently received a request from the government to self-isolate for the next 5 days to help hold back the coming problems. Wherever we live, let’s use these days to strengthen our faith and let this crisis draw us closer to God, our Father, and to one another.

San and I are doing well. School has been cancelled for a few weeks. We miss seeing the children and getting hugs, but are grateful the virus hasn’t touched our villages. We are keeping in touch to offer help where needed.

We still need your prayers and financial help to keep the program going and to assist us in helping care for the children and needs that may be multiplying. Thankfully, we were able to complete just before the shutdown, the purchase and delivery to Boca of a new refrigerator for our faithful cook, Mere.

Blessings and love from Mexico,
Randy and Sandra Barr
