Dear Friends,

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.”

2 Corinthians 4:16

“They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the Lord is upright; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

Psalm 92:14-15

Like many as we grow older, I have certainly experienced my ‘outward man’ going through unpleasant changes. Yet I do sense my ‘inward man’ is making better choices and becoming bolder to share my faith. This time of life brings adjustments and letting go of things we can no longer accomplish. To let go is not to give up, but to refocus our priorities. Let’s be honest with ourselves and seek to ‘still bear fruit’ until Jesus says the race is finished.

Our current call is to feed and care for kids and communities here in Mexico. During this tourist season, a number of people have gone with us to see the work and interact with the great kids. As people prepare to go home, they often say, “Our time with the school children was the highlight of our vacation.”

‘Day of the Child’ (April 30th) is always a big Party Day at the schools with special food, little gifts, and favors provided. Teachers work hard creating containers with candy for all their students, playing games, and pulling the Pinatas up and down. We provided balls for all the Boca kids, and special food in both towns.

We are currently getting bids on the cost of improving the water delivery system in the pueblo of Quimixto. They need a motor and pump. One of the bids was for $2500. U.S.D. We are so proud of Fabian, our scholarship student majoring in civil engineering. He initiated another bid by bringing two men from the Puerto Vallarta Public water company all the way to Boca and then Quimixto on the water taxi. The goal is to get a more powerful system that will last more than six months. If you would like to assist in this project, please see below how to share.

Again, thank you so much for your faithful support and prayers. I wish we could all get together and have a celebration.

Love and blessings,
Randy and Sandra Barr
