December 2023 Newsletter

Dear Family and friends,

It’s been an exciting six months, and now it’s almost Christmas!

We had hurricane Lidia and some rain here in Puerto Vallarta that caused trees to go down and electric lines too. We helped Quimixto rewire the whole school! Meetings with teachers, Moms, and electricians several times.

Then there were several big landslides onto the highway to Boca de Tomatlan. Thankfully, they could get supplies by water taxi.

We’re planning the school Christmas Parties with a special lunch and lots of pinatas. Love the hugs from all the kids in Primary and Kinder.

I’m hoping Quimixto will soon be able to replace the roof over the Cafeteria and Kitchen. They have some support promised, but we are always ready to help.

After years of planting seeds, I was so happy to see my friend get baptized on Thanksgiving Day. She’s attending two churches and bringing her children and grandchildren with her. Praise God!

We had a great Barr Family reunion in New Mexico. Such a blessing to be together and grateful for God’s help all these years.

I’m very grateful to those of you who have so faithfully supported us and the ministry down here. God is faithful to encourage me through the challenges and to help me “Count it all joy”.

It’s time to remember and celebrate the birth of Christ as ‘God come down’ to save the World. Jesus said: “For it is My Father’s will that all who see His Son and believe in Him should have eternal life. I will raise them up on the last day.” John 6:40
