Dear Friends, and Family,

Quimixto Mother’s Day

School picnic at the Beach

May is the busiest! In the U.S., it’s proms, award ceremonies, and graduations. In Mexico, it’s Day of the Child and Mother’s Day.

We had beautiful weather for Day of the Child. With a Picnic on the Beach, the kids enjoyed swimming in a shallow, shoreline pool only God could have created.

I was so blessed to be invited by Friends for a Mother’s Day Lunch in the country. The kids swam in the low, rocky river, spun on the merry-go-round, and got a horseback ride.

Mother’s Day at Quimixto School is an all-day Community celebration, with gifts and lunch for all the mothers old and young. A band played as we ate posole, the special soup for holidays, served by the older boys. Then the Kindergarten did several folk dances to everyone’s delight. Moms then have friendly competitions like Musical Chairs to win prizes, and everyone gets to dance in the middle.

God is so good to ‘set the solitary in families’. Keeping close to our physical and spiritual families, we can give and show His love and ‘so prove to be Jesus’ disciples’. As we learn to love by really listening to and seeing people, we all see Jesus more clearly, and He’s wonderful!

Thank you for your prayers and faithful support. May it be multiplied to you.

With love and blessings,
