Dear Friends & Family,
It has been a lovely winter here in Puerto Vallarta. Many Snowbirds (people from the North who winter in PV) returned after the Covid lockdown. We are so grateful for the support they bring to the Tourist Culture and the thousands of workers and businesses who suffered for two Seasons!
Sadly, the Quimixto Elementary Teacher from the photo in our December letter passed away from cancer. It was unexpected and he is missed by all the children, as he was there for several years. Please pray for them. Also, please really pray for a replacement teacher and for the health of the other two teachers. Dave Howell, a faithful Friend to us and to the Quimixto School, visited recently and brought soccer balls to cheer up the kids.
Veronica is the teacher we have supported for fifteen years with coloring books about Jesus, other Bible stories, crayons, and pencils for the Church School. She teaches two age groups, and also assists the Pastor in his duties in church and with funerals. She conducted the graveside service of a well-loved Friend which I attended. The whole town of Quimixto was present and I visited Randy’s grave.
A source of real learning and encouragement has been the opportunity to host and lead a Women’s Bible Study in my condo. As we are reading the book of Acts in the New Testament of the Bible, which tells of the supernatural outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the launching of the Christian Church after Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, we have been experiencing our own baptism in the Holy Spirit! He has been present to Draw us to God, Teach us, Convict and Free us of sin, Comfort and Heal us, and Empower us for ministry to our Worlds. He is Powerful! Do you want ALL God has for you? Ask Him to Baptize you in the Holy Spirit, and get ready for tears when you worship, new, personal application of the Bible to your situation, and faith with power to pray for everyone. We need Him now more than ever.
