Dear Friends,

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”

Psalm 23:6

Mother’s Day gift from our scholarship student, Alondra

Kindergarten teacher

Many years ago, I preached on Psalm 23. At the time, I considered Goodness and Mercy to be the two angels God had designated to keep me safe. I am still thankful for the angels assigned to watch over and assist us in life’s challenges. I recently heard another pastor say, “Goodness is God giving us what we don’t deserve, and mercy is God Not giving us what we do deserve.”

I believe each of us could give thanks to God for those great truths. Then the final promise of Psalm 23: “And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” We can’t even imagine what dwelling with God will be like; beyond all we could think. This is the most comforting promise I could receive as I grow older. I encourage each of us to share these promises with others who are unaware of God’s great goodness.

Another year is flashing by. We have had such a great time with our Mexican children. Many celebrations, lots of food, prayers, and love. It is always an emotional time when our sixth graders graduate and move on to Secondaria (Jr. High) school. After spending seven years together, seeing them grow, giving hugs, occasionally drying tears, then off they fly. They remember us with hugs when we see them years later in their villages or in
Puerto Vallarta. Then the next school year, the new Kindergarteners arrive, and the process begins again. This August, we will begin our fourteenth year of Caring for Kids in Mexico, God willing!

Someone gave new play equipment

I have been preaching at two different churches lately and always welcome the opportunity. San is doing great and is the best friend ever. Her Spanish is very good, by the way.

To each of you who have supported us, we deeply appreciate your giving and prayers. I pray blessings upon you every morning.

Have a safe, loving, relaxed summer; and when the wind grows cold, think of a vacation in Mexico.

Love and blessings,
