Dear Friends,

Isaiah 40:3-5 in the Bible says: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’

This prophecy describes the destiny of the infant Jesus. Ultimately He would reveal the glory of the Lord. I pray this Christmas season you experience God’s glory (magnificence), the joy of giving, celebrating, and truly enjoying the goodness and grace God has prepared for us. He longs for us to know His love and care, His patience and forgiveness; to realize He paid for our faults and grants us the strength to forgive others. We don’t always understand His ways, but we can trust His will. Some day we will know as we have been known. For now, we can lean on His grace to grant us the strength to face a New Year with hope, courage, and a determination to love and serve Him and the people He brings our way.

Cakes for Boca

We had a great visit here with our youngest daughter, Emily, her husband, Matt, and two energized grandsons, Greyson 5, and Griffin 18 mos. Needless to say we were busy and challenged to up our energy level. We had fun and have fully recovered; just in time for a visit from our eldest daughter, Abigail and Torsten, and the twins Ella and Sam, now 13. The good times just keep on rolling!

We’ve had a great year with the Quimixto and Boca de Tomatlan school kids. Their Posadas (Christmas Parties) were this week, and we had a great time sharing in their joy with special lunches of pizza, hot dogs and cake.
I encourage each of us to remember those less fortunate, and to give, volunteer, and reach out to the needy.
