Dear Friends,

“So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God. [conviction, confidence, trust, belief, reliance] For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Mark 11:22-24

What an astounding statement from Jesus Himself! This truth requires faith that most of us want to have, but the natural world around us says, “It can’t be done.” We may also remember times when we didn’t receive that for which we prayed.

Is there a far deeper faith that requires time and verbal confession to be released? A natural example of this might be any complicated new experience we try to learn. When I was a young man in Texas, I broke horses. Before you mastered the task, you had bruises, pain, and dirty clothes. At any time, I could have said, “I can’t do it.” Yet, the more times I got back on, the gentler the horse became.

If our prayers aren’t answered after a period of time, are we going to give up and say that scripture doesn’t seem true, or will we rather continue believing the Lord until faith is released and we see the answer?

As Christians, do we depend upon the natural world to confirm the spiritual; or do we choose to believe the spiritual will eventually surpass the natural? When God’s promises seem unattainable, keep on praying, keep verbally confessing scriptures, keep battling the lies of the enemy, and persevere. If we do, I am convinced we will see God’s sovereign hand releasing the miracle we’ve been seeking.

We got to see God answer prayers this week! We had prayed for His leading in providing help to more people in need. Then at Costco, Sandra bumped into church friends who feed the poor near the dump in Puerto Vallarta. They had been praying for provision for next week’s outreach, as they had only enough for this week. We all rejoiced and got chillbumps over how God used us to provide for them, answering both theirs and our prayers!!

We’ve also helped make six large dispensas (food boxes) for families of our friend; given towards other dispensas; provided money for our cook’s doctor appointment; and continue to help our college student, Fabian.

YOU are the answer to many prayers when you share with us to meet the needs here in Mexico! Thank you for sharing with Caring For Kids and for your prayers for us, the people, and the children we are privileged to help. Thank you for your continued financial help and your faithful prayers!”

Love and blessings,
Randy and Sandra Barr
