Dear Friends,

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

The flash floods, tornadoes, oil spill, and economic chaos we have been experiencing make these verses quite a challenge! I remind myself that “all things work together for good to those who love God” Rom. 8:28. Just as our physical strength grows greater when we increase resistance, so our FAITH is strengthened in times of adversity. Let us not allow circumstances to dictate our attitude. Let’s keep trusting and pressing forward, giving thanks in all things and continuing to be “more than conquerors” through Christ’s Spirit within us!

By the time you read this letter, San and I will have completed our fourth year of Caring for Kids in Mexico. So far, through your generous donations we’ve provided over 125,000 meals to school children, and completed a number of school and community projects. The most recent project was contributing to a new schoolroom in Quimixto. The roof was provided by a generous donation from our friends’ church in Tacoma, Washington. The teacher will be glad to move indoors and have fewer distractions, like dogs traipsing through the classroom.

During our time in Mexico, a large portion of our personal finances has been provided by faithful, generous friends. In July, one of our major contributors will have completed their commitment to us. This will leave us approximately $2000 short in our monthly budget for personal expenses. We would, therefore, like to ask those of you who are willing and able, to add us to your MONTHLY giving. (Please see address below.) We THANK each of you for your gifts, and equally, those who have prayed for our program and wellbeing. San and I are so grateful to the Lord not only for His provision but for the good health He has continued to grant.

Another change is also in process. Our ministry is now coming under the covering of “A Light to the Nations” ministry, directed by my good friend, Dana Morey. We will continue our work in Mexico, as usual; but will also work occasionally with Dana in Evangelistic Outreaches and Teaching Conferences in different parts of the world. In 2009, we were in Southern India.  This July 5-11th, we will be holding meetings in Rwanda, Africa. Please keep us in your prayers during the meetings, and during our summer visits to family. You will be able to follow the progress of the Rwanda outreach on our blog at www.alighttothenations.com.  I will provide an update later this summer, and we will continue in prayer for you.

Thank you for standing with us.

Blessings,

Randy and Sandra Barr
