December 2023 Newsletter

Dear Family and friends, It’s been an exciting six months, and now it’s almost Christmas! We had hurricane Lidia and some rain here in Puerto Vallarta that caused trees to go down and electric lines too. We helped Quimixto rewire the whole school! Meetings with teachers, Moms, and electricians several times. Then there were several big landslides onto the highway to Boca de Tomatlan. Thankfully, they could get supplies by water taxi. We’re planning the

May 2023 Newsletter

Dear Friends, and Family, May is the busiest! In the U.S., it’s proms, award ceremonies, and graduations. In Mexico, it’s Day of the Child and Mother’s Day. We had beautiful weather for Day of the Child. With a Picnic on the Beach, the kids enjoyed swimming in a shallow, shoreline pool only God could have created. I was so blessed to be invited by Friends for a Mother’s Day Lunch in the country. The kids

Dear Friends, and Family, It’s been a blessing to bring Family and Friends to the village of Quimixto with me this New Year. We have given the local horse rental guy, Nacho, lots of business when he leads us up to the cemetery and the waterfall. It’s a fun adventure even as we visit Randy’s grave and remember all the excitement he brought into our lives. We are grateful to still help with the school

Dear Friends, and Family, It was so great to spend time with our four kids this summer! I was blessed to see them visit, share, and pray for one another. It’s powerful to see God’s promises fulfilled: “Bring up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he/she will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. We are all building the next generation (or two or three) and leaving a legacy.

Hello My Faithful Friends, God gave me Psalm 46 to comfort and encourage me. It’s all-encompassing! Here is a summary: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present Help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and the mountains slide into the sea.” because “There is a river…in the City of God… she shall not be moved…The nations raged”…but “the Lord of Armies is with us…He makes wars

April 2022 Newsletter

Dear Friends & Family, It has been a lovely winter here in Puerto Vallarta. Many Snowbirds (people from the North who winter in PV) returned after the Covid lockdown. We are so grateful for the support they bring to the Tourist Culture and the thousands of workers and businesses who suffered for two Seasons! Sadly, the Quimixto Elementary Teacher from the photo in our December letter passed away from cancer. It was unexpected and he

December 2021 Newsletter

Dear Friends, I can only write with a heart full of thanks for your faithful and loving support of Caring For Kids in Mexico! It has been an indescribeable blessing. God has been so gentle and patient and loving as I have navigated new times and passed the one year mark on Nov. 21, without Randy here with me. It has been almost two years since Covid closed schools. Recently, in Boca de Tomatlan school,

Dear Friends, In the Bible’s Gospel of John, close to the time of His death on the cross, Jesus comforted his disciples with these words: “My peace I give to you; not as the world gives…LET NOT your heart be troubled, neither LET it be afraid.” John 14:27 Sounds like we can decide whether or not we LET our hearts be troubled and fearful. One way that helps is to immediately put into God’s hands

Dear Friends, “For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 This became our verse of praise and thanksgiving to God as we said ‘Good-bye’ to Randy for now. He went to be with the Lord November 21, 2020. He is walking with His best Friend, Jesus, and probably hugging lots of family, friends, and people who recognize

Dear Friends, “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? For you are our glory and joy.” 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 Paul’s source of joy was his trust that the people of the Thessalonian Church would stand in the presence of Jesus at His return. When we connect and become committed to other believers, we likewise rejoice
