Dear friends,

1 Corinthians 13:13 says,

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

Life really is all about love. Loving God, loving people, even loving our enemies.

The simplest definition of God is: “God is Love.” In each situation we face we should ask ourselves, “Am I loving?” Sounds easy, but due to life’s challenges, truly loving with unselfish motives can be very difficult. Therefore, we need God’s Holy Spirit to empower us with supernatural love in our hearts, thoughts, and actions.

I mentioned in our last news letter that I was going through some physical challenges. The doctors finally gave me a diagnosis: I have too much iron in my blood, medically referred to as Hemochromatosis.

This is a genetic problem passed down through the generations. Emily, our youngest daughter, has the same problem. If diagnosed early, the treatment can be effective and as simple as giving blood every few weeks. My case is a bit more complicated due to the fact I have had the problem for many years without knowing. The symptoms began to manifest earlier this year. I have very little energy, can no longer work out, and am also retaining water in my feet, legs, and abdomen. My muscles, after 40 years of lifting weights, said “So long!” in only a few months. So when you think of San and I, please say a prayer, for we are aware God has the last word. He is still Healer of the sick, so we remain optimistic.

I began with encouraging us to continue growing in our Love. I want to thank so many of our church friends here in Puerto Vallarta for coming to see me, praying, and keeping me on their church prayer lists. Nothing heals like being loved. Our feeding program continues each week thanks to Sandra and neighbors and a terrific group of helpers at each school.

I plan to go out to see the school kids in the coming weeks. We wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and thank you for your continued prayers and financial support in Caring for Kids in Mexico.

Love and blessings from Puerto Vallarta,
